These terms govern your use of the FormFence app for Shopify. By installing FormFence, you accept them.
Who you are agreeing with
FormFence is provided by Harbour Labs Digital Ltd (“Harbour Labs”, “we”, “us”), registered in England & Wales under company number 17200663. Questions: formfence@harbourlabs.app.
What FormFence does
FormFence is a Shopify app that detects and blocks spam submissions on your store's contact form. It runs as an embedded admin app plus a Theme App Extension on your storefront.
Your Shopify account
You need an active Shopify store to use FormFence. We rely on Shopify's authentication and billing systems. Anything your Shopify Merchant Agreement covers (account, store ownership, content moderation) sits with Shopify, not with us.
Plans and billing
FormFence offers a Free plan and a Pro plan. Billing is handled entirely by Shopify via the App Store managed pricing flow. You can change or cancel your plan from inside the Shopify admin at any time.
- Free includes the honeypot and rate-limit detection layers.
- Pro adds the full detection pipeline, the dashboard, both logs, CSV export, the reply composer, and the delete tool.
Pricing and features are documented in the Shopify App Store listing and on our website. We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice via in-app notification.
If you cancel, you keep access to paid features for the remainder of your billing period.
Your data, your responsibility
You own the data submitted to your contact form. FormFence acts as a data processor on your behalf for that data. Our handling of it is described in the privacy policy.
You are responsible for:
- Configuring FormFence appropriately for your store
- Not using FormFence to filter forms in ways that conflict with applicable consumer-protection or anti-discrimination law
- Responding to customer enquiries that pass the filter (FormFence does not reply automatically)
Acceptable use
You must not:
- Use FormFence to collect data you have no lawful basis to process
- Reverse engineer or attempt to extract the source code beyond what the licence permits
- Resell or sublicense FormFence
- Use FormFence to facilitate spam, harassment, or other unlawful activity
We may suspend or terminate your access if we have reasonable grounds to believe you have breached this section.
Intellectual property
FormFence (the code, the design, and the brand) is owned by Harbour Labs and licensed to you for use on your Shopify store while you remain a customer. The licence ends when you uninstall the app.
Disclaimer of warranties
FormFence is provided “as is”. We make no warranty that it will catch every spam submission, that it will produce no false positives, or that the service will be uninterrupted. Detection is a probabilistic process and you should treat it as a strong filter rather than a guarantee.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we exclude all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising from or related to FormFence is limited to the amount you paid us for the Pro plan in the 12 months preceding the claim. For Free users, that amount is zero.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost revenue, lost data, or business interruption.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (for example, liability for fraud, gross negligence, or death and personal injury caused by negligence).
Termination
You can stop using FormFence at any time by uninstalling it from your Shopify admin. Uninstalling cancels any active subscription and triggers data deletion per the privacy policy.
We may terminate your access if you breach these terms, or if we discontinue FormFence (in which case we will give at least 60 days' notice via in-app notification).
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via in-app notification at least 30 days in advance. Continued use after the change takes effect means you accept the revised terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England & Wales.
